Vance Packard (1942-2020)

It is with profound sadness that I pass along the news that two-time SIA President Vance Packard passed away on Oct. 27. Vance was an SIA luminary, a recipient of the General Tools Award, and recipient of honors from Pennsylvania museums and institutions where he spent his life.

I’m sure I speak for all of you, as well as all of SIA in saying that Vance will be deeply missed, and as I extend our condolences to his wife and long time SIA member, Bonnie Smith.
