Houghton Co., MI, where the SIA headquarters are located, suffered severe flooding on Sunday 17 June 2018.  The region was very hard hit with many roads washed out, basements flooded, some homes destroyed, and one local death (and two more in northern WI from the same storm system).  The community is pulling together and disaster assistance teams have arrived.

The SIA headquarters itself was undamaged and all here at Michigan Tech who are associated with SIA are safe. Although the university was briefly closed and our Administration Building will be closed for a few weeks for flood abatement, the SIA office is again open—though as we help our community recover, please bear with us if there is a short delay in responding to SIA business.
