IA, The Journal of the Society for Industrial Archeology, is published twice yearly. IA is the principal forum for the publication of current research in industrial archeology. Each issue of this peer reviewed journal contains scholarly articles, essays and book reviews. IA and its companion, the SIA Newsletter, are mailed to all current SIA members. Back issues or photocopies of back issues are available for purchase from the SIA. New members are sent the latest IA immediately after joining.
The more recent issues of IA, Journal of the Society for Industrial Archeology are now available online on the History Cooperative web site. The History Cooperative is a consortium centered at the University of Illinois Press. Volume 29, No. 1 &. 2, Vol. 30, No. 1 & 2, and Vol. 31, No. 1 & 2 are online. Any visitor to http://www.historycooperative.org/ can access these sample issues of IA free for a short trial period. After this initial period, only subscribers will have access. The exact terms of electronic subscription are not settled yet, but access will certainly not involve any additional cost to existing print subscribers. Initially we will have only current issues online, but will gradually migrate back issues to this format, as well. To obtain SIA membership, click here for information.
